Sialon bonded corundum brick has inherited the high-strength and good thermal shock resistance features of the sialon, it is also combined with the features of alumina, which shows good resistance to alkali/oxidization. Thus, sialon bonded corundum brick is expected to be the priority option for blast furnace hearths. 

The combined linings (ceramic cup) from sialon bonded corundum bricks can increase temperature of hot metal and prolong the hearth service life.
