Tap-hole clay plays an important role in stabilizing blast furnace operation, improving the cast house’s environment and prolonging blast furnace’ service life. As the process of iron making in blast furnace becomes more energy-saving and environment-friendly, tap-hole clay will have more functions and excellent performances.
Environment-friendly tap hole clay developed by PRCO is made from high quality Al2O3-SiC-C materials, like white fused alumina, mullite, coke, silicon carbide and silicon nitride, etc. Custom-oriented tap-hole clays can be designed to satisfy different needs. PRCO tap hole clay features advanced technical process and stable qualities with easily plugging/opening, good wear resistance and environment-friendly, and was awarded as National Invention Authorization (Patent #: ZL200510131949.6) in 2008 and listed into 2010 National New Product Programs (Item #:2010GRD00018).
The advantages of PN series of tap-hole clay are as follows:
First class environment-friendly product. The content of benzo (a) pyrene is lower even than the European environment standard. There is no odor during production and no smoking in performance.
Good application property. PN series of tap-hole clays feature good plasticity, easy installation and opening, the drilling time is less than 5 minutes. The depth of tap hole can be guaranteed with no splashing.
Good wear/erosion resistance. During tapping, hot metal flow speed is stable while the tap hole is worn slowly. 310 minutes of continuous tapping is achieved in a 5250m3 blast furnace.
Low consumption. The fireclay consumption per ton of liquid iron is less than 0.5kg, leading in the world.
PN series of tap hole clays have been widely used in Baosteel (750 m3), Nanyang Hanye (1530m3), Shanxi Longmen (1800m3), Azovstal（2500m3）, OJSC, Ukraine (ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih)（5000m3）and South Korea Hyundai（5250m3）, etc.
Packaging: 1000kg woven bag or 20 kg cardboard carton on wooden pallet.
Transportation & Storage: Avoid rain/snow. Kept from sunlight and high temperature.
Shelf life: 3 Months in summer. 6 Months in winter.
